I have only started playing FreeLancer, I currently play WarRock (a bit like CSS but better8) )

I am really confused, I was cruising, and all of a sudden this ship flies past me reversing! erm how do you do this? someone please explain thanks 
EDIT: and I need practise flying a ship lol as I am still a moose at flying and fighting
